The next time you feel like God can't use you, just remember...

Hey everyone, I hope you all of you were able to spend some time with your family Easter Sunday.  If not in person at least electronically.  I have shared on a couple of occasions  a little part of my story of being called into the ministry.  Often when I think about it I am still amazed that God can use someone like me.  Maybe you wonder about that yourself sometimes.  I ran across the following that you should read.  God not only can use each of us, He wants to use each of us.  God Bless, see you Sunday.
The next time you feel like God can't use you, just remember...
  • Noah was a drunk.
  • Abraham was too old.
  • Isaac was a daydreamer.
  • Jacob was a liar.
  • Leah was ugly.
  • Joseph was abused.
  • Moses had a stuttering problem.
  • Gideon was afraid.
  • Samson had long hair and was a womanizer.
  • Rahab was a prostitute.
  • Jeremiah and Timothy were too young.
  • David had an affair and was a murderer.
  • Elijah was suicidal.
  • Isaiah preached naked.
  • Jonah ran from God.
  • Naomi was a widow.
  • Job went bankrupt.
  • John the Baptist ate bugs.
  • Peter denied Christ.
  • The Disciples fell asleep while praying.
  • Martha worried about everything.
  • The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once.
  • Zaccheus was too small.
  • Paul was too religious.
  • Timothy had an ulcer.
    AND...
  • Lazarus was dead!
No more excuses now. God can use you to your full potential. Besides, you aren't the message; you are just the messenger.

Thinking About Easter

Good evening church family, its Bro. Steve.  I haven't posted anything for awhile because, believe it or not, I have been extremely busy helping my daughter and son in law re-landscape their home.  However, I have been thinking more and more about Easter and I ran across a song with video singer songwriter Don Francisco that I thought was very inspiring and encouraging.  I wanted to share it with you.  God Bless and See You Sunday.

Paul wrote this to remind Titus;

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,”
Titus 3:4-6 NIV

Must See Movies This Easter

Hi everyone, it's Bro. Steve.  I was looking at somethings on the internet today and ran across a website that I look at from time to time that had a list and explanation of Easter movies for this time of year.   They are a variety of movies for all members of the family.  Maybe not every movie for every person, however, there will be a movie for every person.  With things being the way they are right now I know families are watching more TV and looking for things to watch.  Click HERE or on the icon below and it will take you to the web page where you can read about each of the movies.  Hope you watch some of them as we think about the empty grave this time of year.  Don't forget to tune in this Sunday morning on our Facebook page.  We are doing some things to try and prevent any interruptions in the broadcast this week.  Praying all is well with each of you and just remember that God has got all of this.  Love You each and everyone.

The Lord said to Joshua:
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:8-9 NIV

I want you all to know that I Love you with all my Heart and I take the instruction that the Lord gave us through Peter:
“Be shepherds of Godʼs flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5:2-3 NIV

Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir "My Life is in Your Hands"

This is Bro. Steve, a few days ago someone sent me this video and I thought it was not only a beautifully sung song by The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir but just perfect for the days we are living in.  It blessed my heart so I thought I would share it with you.  The days we are living in can be a little scary but........You Don't Have to Worry, Your Life is in His Hands.  God Bless each of you as you listen to this song.

Gaither Vocal Band "This is the Place"

Hello church family, this is Bro. Steve again.  I really am not trying to overload you with songs, however, I am a huge Gaither fan and Tina sent me this new song and I thought it was just awesome.  So much so that I just had to share it with you.  The song is talking about the church and it just touched my heart as I remembered so many of the  things talked about in the song.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  I love you guys.  Be safe and I hope and pray to see you soon.

God With Us

Bro. Steve again.  I must admit that I do not love reading long stories, so happy the Bible is broke up into chapters and short stories.  For that reason I look for short things that I can read, such like the Easter Code that I hope you guys are still reading.  I found the following short story titled God With Us and it served as a great reminder to me of how God is ever present.  I hope you will enjoy reading it.  Love you guys.

The man whispered, "God, speak to me"
And a meadowlark sang.
But, the man did not hear.

So the man yelled, "God, speak to me"
And the thunder rolled across the sky.
But, the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said,

"God let me see you."
And a star shined brightly.
But the man did not see.

And, the man shouted, "God show me a miracle."
And, a life was born.
But, the man did not notice.

So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me God, and let me know you are here."
Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.
But, the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the little and simple things that we take for granted even in our electronic age, so I would like to add one more:

The man cried, "God, I need your help!"
And an e-mail arrived reaching out with good news and encouragement.
But, the man deleted it and continued crying...

Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you expect.

Pancakes
March 25, 2020

Hey guys, it's Bro. Steve again.  I am so excited that we are having worship this Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.  I know we are not all going to be in our beautiful worship center but we will be together in spirit as Bro. Rick shares God's word with us.  In the meantime I thought I would share this little story about how we should never give up trying to do our best for God, ourselves, our families and as well as others.  Love You.

Six-year-old Dan decided one Saturday morning to fix his parents pancakes. He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair to the counter, opened the cupboard and pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling it on the floor.

He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a cup of milk and added some sugar, leaving a floury trail on the floor which by now had a few tracks left by his kitten.

Dan was covered with flour and getting frustrated. He wanted this to be something very good for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad.

He didn't know what to do next, whether to put it all into the oven or on the stove, and he didn't know how the stove worked! Suddenly, he saw his kitten licking from the bowl of mix and reached to push her away, knocking the egg carton to the floor. Frantically, he tried to clean up this monumental mess but slipped on the eggs, getting his pajamas white and sticky.

Just then he saw Dad standing at the door. Big crocodile tears welled up in Dan's eyes. All he'd wanted to do was something good, but he'd made a terrible mess. He was sure a scolding was coming, maybe even a spanking. But his father just watched him.

Then, walking through the mess, he picked up his crying son, hugged him and loved him, getting his own pajamas white and sticky in the process. That's how God deals with us. We try to do something good in life, but it turns into a mess. Our marriage gets all sticky, we insult a friend, we can't stand our job, or our health goes sour.

Sometimes, we just stand there in tears because we can't think of anything else to do. That's when God picks us up and loves us and forgives us, even though some of our mess gets all over Him.

But just because we might mess up, we can't stop trying for God or for others. Sooner or later, we'll get it right, and then they'll be glad we tried.

Letter From God
March 27, 2020

Hi everyone, it's Steve again.  I read this the other day and got to thinking that if God really did write a letter to me it probably would be in simple straight forward terms so that I could understand it.  We all know these things but I thought I would post it just as a reminder.

There are actually 10 things that are pointed out in this letter.  I thought I would post 5 of them today and the other 5 tomorrow.  I pray all is going well with each of you.  Don't forget to join us Sunday at 10:00 for our morning worship service on Facebook.  You can find the link here, click on the Facebook icon above or find the link or our homepage.  We miss you guys and we want you to know that we Love You All Very Much.

From: God

To: All My Children Effective Immediately:

Please be aware that there are changes you need to make in your life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill my promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. I know, I already gave you 10 Commandments. Keep them, but follow these guidelines as well.

1. QUIT WORRYING
Life may have dealt you a blow and you don't have to sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?

2. PUT IT ON THE LIST
Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you until you turn it over to me. And, although my to-do-list is long, I am, after all, God. I can take care of anything you put into my hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3. TRUST ME
Once you've given your burdens to me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on my list. Problem with finances? Put it on my list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For my sake, put it on my list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. LEAVE IT ALONE
Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It's simple. You gave me your burdens, and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with me and forget about them. Just let me do my job.

5. TALK TO ME
I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing I want you to never forget. Please don't forget to talk to me - OFTEN! I love you. I want to hear your voice. I want you to include me in the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with me. I want to be your dearest friend.

Part 2 - Letter From God

Happy Saturday everyone, it's Steve with the second half of the letter from God.  Hope you are having a great day.  Spoke with Bro. Rick earlier today and I am looking forward to the message that God has laid on his heart for tomorrow.  Don't forget we will be live on Facebook Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.   Be sure to share this with your family and friends and especially help get the word out to our congregation.   I have lots of links to our Facebook page but I am going to add one more at the right below this paragraph.   Just click on the icon and it will take you directly to our Facebook page.  See you in the morning.   God Bless
Picture
Second part of the letter from God:

6. HAVE FAITH

I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in me that I know what I'm doing. Trust me, you wouldn't want the view from my eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

7. SHARE
You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who are mourning. Share your faith with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT
I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes me a little longer than you expect to handle something on my to-do-list? Trust in my timing, for my timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.

9. BE KIND
Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for my sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please know I love each of your differences.

10. LOVE YOURSELF
As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes my heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me. Don't ever forget that!

With all my heart, I love you,

GOD
